Dr. Greg Smith recently completed 40 years in public education all of which took place in the Region 4 Education Service Center area as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, central office administrator and superintendent. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Fast Growth School Coalition which represents all the fast-growing districts throughout the state.

Dr. Smith has served as President of TASA, Co-Chair of the Texas High Performance School Consortium, and Chairman of the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership. He has received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Oakland University, Master’s Degree from U of H Clear Lake, and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Smith was honored as the Texas Superintendent of the Year by TASB in 2012, Administrator of the Year by the Texas Classroom Teacher of the Year in 2013, and Superintendent of the Year by the Texas PTA in 2013.
